24/06/2017 · My Cannon ImageCLASS was scanning documents to PDF format without an issue until recently. Now all documents open in Adobe Acrobat with very large page sizes.
Many flatbed scanners do not have a platen (glass scanning area) large enough for a legal sized page. You will only be able to scan in letter sized documents or smaller using your scanner. You will only be able to scan in letter sized documents or smaller using your scanner.
As well, most MFP’s have an option to scan as photo or text, text will be much lower file size because it accounts for the content of the document, where photo accounts for the entire page. Tied into the above
If your scanner’s plugged in and turned on, the scan app lists your scanner’s name, shown here, and the file type used for saving your files.
When I scan a single A4 page with text on the flatbed glass, the output is a PDF file of 180 kb, but when I scan the exact same A4 page with the same scanner settings, but using the ADF then the file output is a PDF file of 850 kb.
